I really need to sleep

I mean seriously.

I'm not sleeping well, and that's making it harder to stick to things. I'm not doing too badly, although I had a fairly major slip today.

Intake:

Oatmeal 220
Garden Pasta at Jasons Deli with soft serve after 650
3/4 bag of popcorn (this would be the screw-up) 250
Lean Cuisine Pizza and a salad 300

Grand total of 1420. Hmmm....and tomorrow is going to be really hard since it is the last day of school and we have lots of social plans. Sigh....we'll do the best we can.

saag paneer and chicken curry 500 (I'm not sure, this is an estimate)

Exercise 40 min Wii Fit
Ok, yesterday? Was crazy.

Still doing ok on calorie intake, just not the detoxing. It would probably be a lot easier if I were actually sleeping! But yesterday's intake:

oatmeal 220 (3/4 cup, tsp butter, stevia packet)
pasta primavera with veg stock sauce and 1/2 wedge salad estimate 600
1 cup of popcorn at kid's party 120 (had stuff on it, so I'm going to guess high)
egg and cheese taco on whole wheat tortilla 220

An estimate of 1260, so let's round up, shall we? 1300. Not too bad.

Later tonight, I'm going to take measurements and post them for comparison. That should be fun. Not.

Re-thinking this idea

No, not the whole weight loss thing. That has to happen. No, the detoxing beforehand. I don't have a problem with just cutting back and exercising, it's the extremeness I have to do to get all of the stuff out. I think if I were sleeping better, it wouldn't be so bad.

So I've dropped to a less extreme detoxing plan which allows for actual food. Maybe if I start getting some sleep again, I can try the more extreme cleanse.

So, yesterday:

Berry Smoothie 150 cal
steamed veggies and rice 500 cal (estimate)
lean cuisine panini (really needed protein!) 320
bowl of special k 190
apricot 55
rice cake 45
1 diet soda
4 glasses of water
2 bottles of water

for a grand total of 1260 calories. Not bad.

Exercise: 40 min of Wii Fit

Today: stick better to the less extreme detox plan (no lean cuisine!)
clean house and do wii fit or walk (it's actually cool here today!)
get some freakin' sleep!

It was a rough start...

But I'm going to recover.

Instead of a fruit smoothie for lunch, I had steamed white rice and steamed veggies. I'll go back to smoothies for dinner, but I was too tired to resist real food. That was probably a good compromise. What do you think? On the plus side, I've only had one soda today, so that is a massive improvement. I bet I can do none tomorrow since I plan on actually sleeping tonight.

As soon as I can get my freakin' kids off of the Wii Fit, I'm going to get on.

Gonna be a rough start...

Massive insomnia last night. Spouse is out of town and I had to get up early since I'm in charge of something at church today. Which meant I didn't get enough sleep because I was paranoid about oversleeping. I am irony's bitch.

So I'm tired, in desperate need of caffeine, and starving. And I'm supposed to start a fast in these conditions. Something has to give and I'm thinking it's the caffeine.

It officially starts tomorrow!

That's right. Starting tomorrow, I will do my elimination diet because we suspect I have some food sensitivities, mainly to wheat. It will be one week of fruit smoothies and supplements to get me cleaned out, and then a very light diet for two weeks after. I'll post what I eat each day so you can see.

I've done this part before, so I expect to lose a shitload of water weight this week. Everyone says "well it doesn't count because it's just water." Excuse me? The last time I went through this, I lost 15 lbs of water weight in TWO DAYS! Doesn't that tell you there is something seriously wrong? Anyway, I expect to see more of the same this time around.

Today's exercise? A bunch of walking around just in general, and 35 minutes of Wii Fit. I'm going to do a serious review of this in a few days and post it at both blogs. Oh, I didn't tell you? I have another blog Taking What Is Left. That's where I talk about everything else in my life.

Why didn't I just do this there? Frankly, I didn't want to bore people who come there for the other stuff. I figure you guys are here for the same reason I am and want to hear about all of this. Who knows? Maybe I'll tell the others about this blog at some point, maybe when I reach my first goal of getting under 200.
